Judging Criteria: What We’ll Be Looking For 🏆

Your innovative solutions will be evaluated by a panel of judges based on a holistic view of your project’s success. While the detailed scoring rubric will be shared with the full problem statements, here are the key areas we’ll be focusing on:

Core: Functionality & Problem Fit (Major Focus)

• Effective Solution:
  • How well does your prototype address the core requirements of the chosen ASB challenge (Alumni Updates or ASBhive Ecosystem)?
  • Is the primary function (e.g., data extraction, data display & interaction) robust and accurate?
• Technical Implementation:
  • Does the solution work as demonstrated?
  • Is there evidence of thoughtful technical design and execution for a hackathon prototype?
• Agentic Features / Usability (Challenge Dependent):
  • For Alumni Challenge: Does it demonstrate smart automation concepts (e.g., for updates, monitoring)?
  • For ASBhive Challenge: Is the user interface intuitive and effective for its intended purpose?

Use of GenAI / Advanced Techniques

• Meaningful Integration:
  • How effectively have you utilized GenAI (e.g., LLMs like Gemini) for tasks such as parsing, structuring, or summarizing data?
  • Does the use of AI add significant value to the solution?

Bonus: Innovation, Design & Ambition

• Creativity & Novelty:
  • Does your solution showcase innovative thinking or a creative approach to the problem?
• User Experience & Interface (Where Applicable):
  • Is the solution (especially any user-facing components) designed thoughtfully for its intended users?
  • Is there consideration for a good user experience, even in a prototype?
• Technical Sophistication & Ambition:
  • Have you demonstrated ambition by tackling complex aspects or using advanced tools/concepts effectively within the hackathon timeframe?

Presentation & Demo Clarity

• Clear Communication:
  • How clearly can you articulate the problem you solved, your solution, and its potential impact during your demo?
  • Is the demonstration well-structured and easy to follow?
